The Original

Back in 2007 my friend and I were goofing around with the idea of creating a brand for ourselves and our whacky ideas. She is Chinese and I am Jewish therefore we came up with the name ‘Chew‘ to represent us in our creative endeavors. 

One thing lead to another and we found ourselves going to brew our own beer at a little brewhouse in Huntington Beach, CA. The beer came out OK but what materialized was our label. We needed to represent our brand with a character that combined the Chinese culture and the traditions of the Jewish faith. After scouring the internet looking for anything that would get us by I decided to try my hand at designing the logo myself. The result is the above image. 

Before we knew it the label was on the bottle and ChewBrew is what we had.
